LOVE – U.S. Recaps LOVE & Some Verses

All the hours of rehearsing and fine-tuning by our LOVE-US youth finally paid off on Friday, December 10th at our multimedia performance, LOVE & Some Verses. The event, which took place at the Barnes & Noble Tribeca in New York City, was a tremendous success in spreading LOVE’s message of non-violence by portraying the various artistic outlets youth utilize in conjunction with their passion and commitment to peaceful alternatives to violence. LOVE & Some Verses included performances of poetry, spoken word, and song, in addition to displays of several photographs and artworks. There was even a special presentation by one of our alumni, Chris Q, to officially graduate three of our youth, Daria, Rob, and George, out of Leadership and into the LOVE alumni family. LOVE-US is enormously grateful to the Nicole Schiffman Foundation, Barnes & Noble Tribeca, and Artists in LOVE for their generous support, as well as LOVE-US staff and particularly the youth for their dedication and fervor in making LOVE & Some Verses a memorable experience for all…While the program manual for our media arts performance described what inspires our youth to produce their art, LOVE & Some Verses left the audience speechless at how exceptionally talented and inspiring they are, not only as artists but also as individuals, who are beyond a doubt—leaders in the movement of non-violence.
